Assistant Anesthesiologist Programs

An anesthesiologist assistant is a specialty physician assistant who works under the direction of a licensed anesthesiologist. The duties of an anesthesiologist assistant are similar to those of a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). Anesthesiologist assistant programs differ from CRNA programs in that they do not require the applicant to hold a nursing degree or having nursing experience. They are graduate programs that require the applicant hold a bachelor degree with a number of prerequisite science courses. The annual salary for an anesthesiologist assistant in 2010 ranges from $100,000 to $150,000.
