Guntur Medical College has 31 departments including cardiology, forensic medicine, pathology, surgery and biochemistry. The college is affiliated with the Government General Hospital and students perform rotations at the hospital as part of their training. Katuri's campus is home to colleges of medicine, nursing, dentistry, technology and medical education. Inaugurated by India's prime minister in 1997, Katuri offers bachelor's degrees in medicine and surgery. Degrees are available in internal medicine, anatomy, physiology, surgery, ophthalmology and pediatrics.
