The ANU School of Music provides a variety of music, performance and production programs that can be tailored to specific interests. Each program is centered on classroom lecture and hands-on learning experience. To fulfill these ideals, the campus provides the most up-to-date equipment, practice facilities and audio equipment available, as well as seasoned musical professionals to guide students to their chosen career path. Students are encouraged to perform and teach as much as possible, and ANU promotes this ideal with its Centre for Musical Outreach and Engagement the School of Music, where degree-seeking students can not only perform for an audience, but teach school children the importance of the arts and music education through outreach programs. Further, the school is launching its own videoconferencing system before the end of 2010. This new program allows the school and its students to ideas from others on an international stage by providing live streamed concerts, instrumental and voice lessons. Additionally, the new technology allows video classes with master artists and virtual residencies.
