Founded in 1928 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Elms College is a Catholic liberal arts institution. Just two miles away from Springfield, Elms is in the populous Massachusetts city of Chicopee. With an academic catalog that includes 33 undergraduate, graduate and certificate courses of study, Elms infuses its Catholic identity into all of its educational programs. The college's legal nurse consultant certificate program is part of the business and law division. Prior to matriculating into the program, students must be registered nurses, have current licensure and have completed at least 2,000 hours of clinical practice in the field. The University of Delaware's main campus is in the northern Delaware city of Newark. Established in 1743, today the university offers a legal nurse consultant certificate program within their professional & continuing studies division. In addition to requiring RN licensure, prospective students must also have more than three years of experience in the field. The program's curriculum consists of eight "modules" in demonstrative evidence, health care law, medical record review and other areas required satisfy certificate requirements. Upon completion of the program, students should be prepared to sit for the certification examination administered by the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.
