    The Citadel

    • As The Military College of South Carolina, The Citadel is home to approximately 2,000 undergraduate students who collectively make up the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Approximately 1/3 of the students in each graduating class go on to accept military commissions. The Citadel is comprised of five subject-specific academic colleges; these schools are Business, Education, Humanities & Social Sciences, Engineering and Math & Science.     • Founded in 1964, Charleston Southern University is a relatively new academic institution that is home to approximately 3,200 students, as reported in 2010. The school is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and strives to provide its students with the opportunity to learn in a Christian environment. Over 30 different undergraduate majors are offered, including behavioral sciences, communication and theater, and criminal justice.
