Charleston Southern University is a Christian university affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Founded in 1964, Charleston Southern provides students with flexibility and convenience. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university currently offers two degree programs that can be pursued entirely online: the Bachelor of Management Arts degree, which is a business management degree primarily for those already in the working sector; and a Master of Nursing Education, a program designed to prepare students for positions in academia or as administrators in hospitals.

Virginia College, founded in 1983, is accredited by the Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and offers both associate and bachelor's degrees for online college students. Virginia College currently has 14 different campus locations throughout the southern United States. Programs of study include surgical technology, respiratory therapy, practical nursing, paralegal studies, interior design, management information systems, human resource management and criminal justice. At the master's degree level, students can pursue degrees in business administration, criminal justice and cybersecurity.
