The University of South Carolina-Beaufort represents part of the South Carolina public state university system. The Beaufort campus is one of eight campuses in the state (the flagship and research campus is located in Columbia) and is the third largest of those campuses, with nearly 2,000 students enrolled. USCB offers traditional degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level and Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees to military personnel stationed locally. Programs include courses in biology, business management, computational science, early childhood education, English, engineering, history, hospitality management, nursing, psychology, sociology, Spanish, art and human services.
Technical College of the Lowcountry's Beaufort campus is one of four campuses the school has with the others being in Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties. The technical school offers more than 75 programs including career-based education in nursing, website design, network engineering, paralegal studies and civil engineering. They also offer college transfer programs for high school seniors, recent high school graduates and adults looking to change careers. Around 2,500 students attend the college with the majority of them enrolled part-time.
Webster University of St. Louis, Missouri, opened its Beaufort campus at the U.S. Naval Hospital in 1980 to serve the local military population, but also admits civilians. Programs at the Beaufort are geared for working adults seeking master's degrees, so most classes are held in the evenings and on weekends. Degrees include the Master of Business Administration and masters in Business and Organizational Security Management, Human Resources Development and Management and Leadership.
Embry-Riddle is a prestigious private university specializing in aviation and aerospace education based in Daytona Beach, Florida. The school offers multidisciplinary flight training programs and has more than 130 satellite campuses and distance learning centers including the campus in Beaufort. The Beaufort campus offers associate degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees and professional certificates at the undergraduate and graduate level. Subjects include aviation maintenance, professional aeronautics, technical management, safety, logistics and security and intelligence.
