Maine Military Schools

Although Maine has no schools that provide exclusive military training, the state does offer options for military training within a larger college or university. Maine Maritime Academy offers an optional program called Regiment that uses a military model to help midshipmen develop leadership and management skills. In addition to the program at Maine Maritime, Maine has seven other institutions of higher learning that offer ROTC programs for one or more branches of the military.

Maine Maritime graduates earn a commission in the U.S. Coast Guard by attending the Coast Guard's four-week Direct Commission Officer School.
