The University of Maryland University College offers online undergraduate degree programs including those in accounting, computer science, criminal justice, gerontology and human resource management. Undergraduate minors include business supply chain management, forensics and biology. UMUC students can also choose from master's degree programs in fields ranging from a Master in Science in accounting and financial management to a Master of Education in instructional technology. UMUC also offers doctorate degree programs, including one leading to a Doctor of Management degree in community college policy and administration. That program, geared to college leaders and professors, is not available to residents of the state of Maryland.

Pennsylvania State University (Penn State)'s World Campus program offers more than 70 degrees and certificates online including master's degrees in subjects ranging from software engineering to applied statistics, and undergraduate degrees including an Associate of Arts degree in Letters, Arts, and Sciences. Penn State has a century-long track record of offering distance learning courses (starting with courses by mail) and is accredited by multiple accrediting bodies, including the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The World Campus program offers classes and degrees identical to the traditional campus offerings.
