    • Located in the northern Florida city of Gainesville, the University of Florida is the state's oldest university, established in 1853. According to the school's website, U of F situates itself as a comprehensive, land-grant, research-focused university with over 900 buildings on a 2,000-acre campus.     Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University

    • Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, better known as Florida A and M, is located in the capitol city of Tallahassee. This land-grant institution---established in 1890---positions itself as doctoral and research-focused university. Florida A and M hosts the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a career-focused branch that strives to produce what the school calls "highly qualified pharmacy practitioners." The College of Pharmacy at FAMU enrolls only selective students, who go on to study in experiential programs, clinical programs and research programs that focus on such areas as pharmacy practice experience, community pharmacy practice, nutritional support, public health and biomedical research.
