Atlanta Area Community Colleges

A community college is a two-year public college offering associate degree, diploma and certificate programs. Many programs are designed to allow students to transfer to a four-year institution upon completion. Community colleges often offer more flexible course schedules and have less stringent admissions requirements than four-year colleges. In Atlanta, students can choose from two community colleges, with a total of six campuses across the metro area.
  1. Atlanta Metropolitan College

    Georgia Community College Information

    • All associate programs are 60 hours and align with the first two years of a bachelor program at a University System of Georgia school. Students enrolled in associate programs may qualify for financial aid, including the H.O.P.E. grant and scholarship programs and the PELL grant. Both named colleges offer dual-enrollment to high school students and also offer dual-enrollment with DeKalb Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. Students may choose day, evening, weekend or online courses. Unlike four-year public colleges in Georgia, students with a GED are eligible to enroll in Georgia community colleges.
