How to Cite a Magazine in APA Format

The APA, or American Psychological Association, is a professional organization comprised of psychologists and other associated professionals. The APA developed a set of writing guidelines beginning in 1929 to make scientific writing in their field concise and clear. Their guidelines have since been adopted by numerous other social science disciplines.

      Find the name of the author or authors of the article, the date of publication of the magazine issue, the title of the article, the title of the magazine, the volume number of the magazine issue, and the page numbers of the article.

      Input the publication data into your essay or other compositions requiring citation in the following format:

      Last name, First and Middle initials. (Year, Month date). Article title. Magazine title, volume number, page range.
