Colleges in Santa Rosa, Florida

Bucolic Santa Rosa is the capital of Sonoma County, California, and at the heart of the state's wine country. However, even though it has a metropolitan population of nearly half a million the city boasts only four colleges and only one of those is a university. Those looking for additional education options in the area will have to study in other cities in the San Francisco Bay region.
  1. University of Northern California

    • The University of Northern California is a recent addition to the higher education market in Santa Rosa, having been founded in 1993. The graduate-level only university's offerings are limited -- just one course of study is offered, a doctor of philosophy in biomedical engineering. The university offers an international program.

    Empire College

    • Like, the University of Northern California, Santa Rosa's Empire College has a limited range of studies within its schools of business and law. Options for majors include accounting, information technology, law, office administration, medical and tourism and hospitality. Empire College emphasizes that it allows students to graduate much faster than at a traditional two-year or four-year college.

    Santa Rosa Junior College

    • Santa Rosa Junior College offers a feeder program for entry into the University of California system as well as career and technical education. The campus features buildings dedicated to agriculture, culinary arts, public safety and technology education. Courses of study offered include a full range of liberal arts and science options. Online classes are also available.

    Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College

    • Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College offers cosmetology classes that teach students not just how to style hair, nails and make-up but also the science behind the products for an in-depth overview of the cosmetology industry.
