The Huygens Scholarship

• The Huygens Scholarship is administered by Dutch embassies and spans many academic areas, including Dutch, literature or Neerlandistiek. Only foreign students who plan to complete bachelor's degrees or begin master's degrees the Netherlands are eligible. There is no set numbers of scholarships available; the Dutch Ministry of Education has allocated 7 million euros for excellent students who want to study in Holland. Leonardo Scholarship

• This scholarship is for postgraduate degree students can either cover three to 12 months of studying and interning in Holland. The scholarship will cover the costs of school, activities and working. The student's home institution must be part of the international Leonardo program, and criteria and expectations may vary.

The Netherlands' Fellowship Programmes (NFP)

• Funded by the Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this scholarship is for those who have begun a career and have been nominated by an employer. The grant can be used for master's or doctoral degrees, or short courses and training courses, completed in Holland. The intent is to alleviate the shortages of skilled manpower within certain sectors in Holland. Contact Nuffic for more information.

The Tempus Programme

• Though based in Italy, Tempus offers scholarships to study in the Netherlands. Students interested in forming partnerships with various international institutions in the European Union and countries in Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and Central Asia, may find this scholarship program to be ideal. Students have the opportunity to partake in exchange programs.
