The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council awards scholarships to incoming freshmen at Catholic universities and colleges in the United States. The Knights award 62 Fourth Degree Pro Deo and Pro Patria scholarships each year, according to the organization's website. Twelve of the scholarships go to students attending Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., while the remaining 50 are for students at other Catholic colleges.
To be eligible for the $1,500 renewable scholarship, applicants must the son or daughter of a Knight. The deadline for application for students other than those who will attend Catholic University of America is Oct. 1. Those accepted by Catholic University of America should request application materials from the university's financial aid office.

The American Baptist Churches USA awards scholarships to qualifying students who are citizens of the United States and members of an American Baptist Church USA congregation. Students must attend a college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, according to the American Baptist Home Missionary Societies website. Undergraduates must be full-time students in a four-year degree program. Applicants must write an essay about the gifts they have received from God. Scholarships vary from $500 to $1,000. Seminarians and Ph.D. candidates must attend a seminary or be studying for the ministry.

The United Methodist Church awards scholarships to survivors and dependents of survivors of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Students must attend a United Methodist institution or must be United Methodist students in colleges or universities in the United States. According to the criteria on the The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, eligible applicants must have a parent or guardian who died or was disabled on Sept. 11.
