Its objective is to provide financial support and assistance for Pakistani students wishing to study at the United Kingdom's top institutions, notably Oxford and Cambridge Universities. The scholarship is offered in all subject areas including medicine and dentistry. All Pakistani nationals are eligible to apply, although strong preference will be given to those who have not yet had the opportunity to study abroad. The scholarship is income assessed, and varies depending on the needs of the specific student.

The Australian Development Scholarship scheme has been established by the Australian government as part of a bilateral assistance program. Its aim is provide support for developing countries by offering a wide range of educational scholarships through all its major universities. The scholarships are offered in a wide range of subjects including medicine. As well as financial support, recipients of the scholarship receive practical and legal support for the duration of their studies. Applications should be made to the relevant university, as each offers a slightly different package.

The Syrian government has offered two scholarships to Pakistani nationals seeking to study medicine in 2010/2011. This is part of a cultural exchange program and is set to continue, although details of scholarships for the year beginning 2012 have not yet been confirmed. One fully funded seat was offered at Aleppo University to study medicine, and one more at Tishreen Univeristy for dentistry. Applicants should be 26 years or under, and have passed the HSSC with high grades.

The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Lahore is offering funded training posts for postgraduates. This hospital specializes in the care of cancer patients and seeks medical students with a desire to specialize in oncology. The first post offered is a fellowship in orthopedic and muskoloskeletal surgery. Applicants must already hold an FCPS qualification or equivalent. The second is a 3-year placement in medical oncology. The third is a fellowship in pediatric oncology. Applicants must hold an FCPS or equivalent in pediatrics.

Scholarships for Pakistani students to attend the 5-year MBBS programme at Xianning university were offered by the Chinese government in 2009. 30 places were offered, in which tuition fees were fully covered.
