Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle Scholarships

The cost of college is increasing every year, and one of the ways to save money is through scholarships and grants. Regarded as one of the premier health care systems in America, the Baptist Memorial Health Care Network consists of 15 hospitals. The Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle is located in Columbus, Mississippi and is the network's largest regional hospital. The Baptist Memorial Hospital has several scholarship programs available to students enrolled in specific programs.
  1. Foundation Educational Assistance Program

    • Baptist Memorial Health System offers several scholarship programs to help students gain the knowledge they need to excel in the health care field. According to the Baptist Memorial Health Care website, the Foundation Educational Assistance Program, or FEAP, will assume tuition costs for the last two years of an associate or bachelor level degree. FEAP will also pay for the last four years of a master's or doctorate level degree. This scholarship program is available for full-time students enrolled in select allied health fields. An added benefit of the FEAP program is employment placement within the Baptist system when positions are available.

    Nursing Educational Assistance Program

    • According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for registered nurses is expected to grow much faster than the average occupation, confirming nursing as the largest health care occupation in the United States. The Baptist Memorial Health System offers the Nursing Educational Assistance Scholarship to meet this demand and attract high-quality workers to the field of nursing. The Assistance Scholarship is offered through the Baptist College of Health Sciences, a fully accredited four year school managed by the Baptist Memorial Health System. The college offers a bachelors degree in the science of nursing.

    Humana Foundation Scholarship Program

    • The Humana Foundation Scholarship Program offers yearly renewable scholarships for full-time students enrolled in an accredited two or four year program. This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America, a national nonprofit program specializing in student educational support. The Medical News Service website reports that Humana has entered a partnership with the Baptist Memorial Health System and is offering nursing scholarships to students at the Baptist College of Health Sciences. This partnership allows full-time students, with an excellent academic record, to receive a four year degree they otherwise could not have afforded.

    Tennessee Educational Lottery Scholarship

    • The Tennessee Educational Lottery Scholarship, or simply TELS, includes several award scholarships. Four of these scholarships may be used for educational expenses accrued at the Baptist College of Health Sciences. Students enrolled through the Baptist Memorial Hospital are eligible for TELS scholarships such as the Hope Scholarship, the General Assembly Merit Scholarship, the Aspire Award and the Hope Access Grant. You must attend the Baptist College of Health Sciences in Tennessee to receive any of the Tennessee Educational Lottery Scholarships.
