Go to National Association of State Boards of Accountancy's web page. Click Exams, then click CPA Exam.
Click the appropriate state in which you wish to sit for the CPA exam.
Follow the information provided on your state's specific page. For most states, click on First Time Application. Some states direct you to a state accountancy board.
Follow the state's rules on required documents. This includes filing the application, paying fees, and filing transcripts.
Sign up for the specific section of the exam for which you want to sit after receiving approval from your state's accountancy board. Each exam has its own fee and varies by state.
