Go to the Arizona Department of Education's AEPA Web site and download a free AEPA study guide, or order a paper copy. Once you have the appropriate AEPA study guide in hand, review the test objectives in detail to get a clearer idea of what is on the AEPA exam.
Find resources to help you study the areas with which you're unfamiliar. You can use your own textbooks and notes from school to study for the AEPA, and many test-takers also find helpful resources on the Internet and at the public library.
Take the practice test in your AEPA study guide and use the answer key to check your answers. This will familiarize you with the AEPA test format and help you identify areas of weakness. If there are still test objectives that you haven't mastered, go back and study these objectives again.
Find additional study guides and practice tests aside from the official AEPA study guide. Consider using the Internet or the local library to find unofficial AEPA practice tests. While these are never guaranteed to mimic the actual content of the AEPA, they are useful if you simply want extra practice with the multiple choice format. Some test-takers also find it helpful to review study guides and practice tests for comparable teacher certification exams like the PRAXIS or other states' exams.
