Send NSCBN your credentials. To sit for the NCLEX-RN exam, you have to show the NSCBN that you have successfully graduated from nursing school. Go to your school's nursing department and ask them to send your transcripts to the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
Go to the New Jersey Consumer Affairs website (njconsumeraffairs.gov) and download the application packet for licensing as a registered nurse in the sate of New Jersey.
Take a passport-sized photograph that measures 2 inches by 2 inches.
Fill out your application forms, and attach the photograph to the first page with glue. Do not use staples to attach the photograph. Mail your application to the address on the application form.
Register with the testing service. Go to the Pearson VUE website (vue.com) and register with them to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam.
Visit the Pearson VUE website to schedule a date for your NCLEX-RN exam when you receive an Authorization to Test letter from the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. You can make the scheduling online on the Pearson VUE website or call them and schedule over the phone.The phone number is on their website.
Begin the background check process. To work as a registered nurse in New Jersey, you need to go through a background check. You will receive mail from the State Board of Nursing instructing you on where to go to begin your background check process. You do not have to do this before you take the NCLEX-RN exam, but you have to finish it before you can work as a registered nurse if you pass the NCLEX-RN exam.
