Colorado GED Schools

A high school education or a GED is important to have in this economy. This education will open doors for new jobs and job training that you may not have known existed. If you wish to study for the GED in Colorado, there are many schools at which you can train before taking the test. You can find one that is closest to you and begin right away!
  1. Denver

    • Denver has many exciting GED prep programs to choose from. The Community College of Denver, for instance, is a great place to study for, receive support for and take the GED in the Denver area. Register at the GED office and pay an admission fee of $60. After you pay this fee, continue to take placement tests in reading, math, and language. After staff members assess these placement exams, they will suggest classes for the test-taker. You can take two classes at a time, usually reading and math, or up to five classes if your schedule permits. Once you take the practice exams, it is time for the official GED. CCD offers a bundle of 5 official GED tests or individual tests for $20.

    Colorado Springs

    • Colorado Springs has several GED prep programs, which include the Family and Adult Education programs in school District 11. This program offers classes for GED prep and ABE (Adult Basic Education.) This program also requires a registration fee so you may take your placement exams. Tuition for classes from January to May is $50, although there is no tuition cost for students under 21. Classes are held 2 days a week for 3 hours each. Attend classes until you are ready to take the exam.

    Pueblo

    • Pueblo Community College offers great opportunities to prepare for the GED. The Adult Education Program at PCC offers orientation to students who wish to learn more about the program, as well as take pre-tests and complete enrollment paperwork. Once you complete orientation, you can register for the proper GED classes and attend for a semester, or as long as needed to prepare for the GED.

    Durango

    • A great resource for GED prep in southwestern Colorado is the Durango Adult Education Center. The Durango AEC requires a registration fee of $20, and this fee will be applied to the GED test fee after at least twelve hours of instruction at the AEC. GED prep classes end in June and after a short summer break, classes begin again in September.

    Other Colorado Cities

    • Many cities in Colorado have one or more places to study for the GED. These can all be found through the Colorado Department of Education. The CDE offers not only a list of the GED prep sites, but also GED testing sites throughout the state.
