How to Make a Preschool Graduation Cap

Graduation from preschool is a festive occasion for the graduate, the school, the parents, grandparents and siblings that come along to watch the graduates. Preschool graduation can be done in many ways, but it is fun to make it as authentic as possible, complete with a graduation cap, diploma, cake and other goodies. Help the little graduates celebrate by making graduation caps.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut out a square piece of cardstock about 10 inches by 10 inches.

    • 2

Allow the child color both sides of the hat top black or blue. They can also just decorate them any way they want just for a festive and original look. Try to remind the students not to bend the cardstock in any way.

    • 3

Fold a piece of 8-inch-by-8-inch construction in half so the short side is about 4 inches. Use glue to close the edges of the construction paper on the short sides of the fold and let the glue dry thoroughly, preferably overnight.

    • 4

Glue the folded edge of the construction paper to the bottom of the cardstock so that the construction paper is completely affixed to the cardboard. Bend the construction paper to a 90-degree angle so that the open end of the fold can be opened out and placed on the child's head.
