Marion School has 120 students in grades K-8. Middle school students are involved in a program "Gear Up," which makes them aware of job opportunities and college possibilities they will have in the future. Part of this program makes students aware of what is expected of them by teachers, counselors and administrators.
Marion School has a staff of 20, including one seventh- and one eighth-grade teacher. There is an active PTO (Parent Teacher Organization), where teachers are encouraged to work with parents to get them involved in the school.
Marion school has boys and girls basketball teams and a girls volleyball team. It also has a student council. There are candy sales to make money for the school. The school encourages community participation by letting students and parents know about events in nearby Kalispell, Montana. For example, in the school's newsletter, there is an announcement about a football league for students.
The school plans to add three classrooms and restrooms that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act that would would add about 4,500 square feet to the campus. School officials wanted a bigger expansion, but the citizens of Marion voted against it.
