A variety of education options are available for students who want to attend dental school on the East Coast of the United States. Many top-rated schools are located in New England, and plenty of other dental schools are located all along the East Coast.
  1. University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine

    • Located in Farmington, Connecticut, the School of Dental Medicine began in 1968 and has been a leader in dentistry education with a focus on research, patient care and community outreach. The College of Dental Medicine is a part of the University of Connecticut Health Center. The college aims to promote professionalism and provide individual attention to each student by educating students about high-quality health care for patients.

    University of Florida College of Dentistry

    • Established in 1972, the College of Dentistry is the only publicly funded dental school in Florida. The college focuses on creating solid patient relationships, a foundation in research and outreach to the surrounding community. Sixteen degree and certificate programs are offered, and each year about 80 new students are admitted to the college. It is nationally known for its contributions to oral health research, with an emphasis in infectious diseases, bone biology, pain and neurosciences.

    University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine

    • One of the oldest dental schools in the country, Penn Dental Medicine is on the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia. The school is a private, Ivy League institution that focuses on patient care, education and research. Class size is about 455 students in the four-year Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program. Programs include a pre-doctoral DMD program, postgraduate programs in clinical specialties and programs for advanced studies in dental medicine.

    University of Maryland Dental School

    • The Dental School of the University of Maryland was created from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, established in 1840 by the Maryland General Assembly. The school offers degrees in dental surgery, bachelor's and master's degrees in dental hygiene and graduate programs in oral and craniofacial biological sciences. The Dental School is highly active in the community and works in conjunction with public health institutions locally and throughout the world.
