Locations of the Middle Schools in Boulder County, Colorado

The Boulder Valley School District serves numerous Colorado cities in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The District includes 55 schools over 500 square miles and serves cities including Boulder, Gold Hill, Jamestown, Lafayette, Louisville, Nederland, Superior, Ward and parts of Broomfield and Erie. The district includes 18 middle schools including some schools serving children from kindergarten to eighth grade.
  1. Summit Middle Charter School

    • Summit Middle Charter School is located at 4655 Hanover Ave., in Boulder. Summit, established in 1996, is a tuition-free public charter school. It has received the John Irwin School of Excellence Award every year from 2000 to 2010. Summit also received the highest national award in education in 2003 and 2004. The school helps prepare students to future study in international baccalaureate, advanced placement and other college preparatory programs.

    Southern Hills Middle School

    • Southern Hills Middle School is located at 1500 Knox Dr. in Boulder. The teachers at Southern Hills communicate with parents daily regarding homework and school announcements. Every classroom in the school features a SmartBoard. The school claims to receive the highest marks from parents of any middle school in the district, as of February 2011.

    Casey Middle School

    • Casey Middle School is located at 1301 High St. in Boulder. The school offers a bilingual program offering classes in Spanish language arts, Spanish reading and Spanish social studies. Casey also features a talented and gifted program, including an onsite program administrator. Honors math and advanced language arts courses are also available. Afterschool activities include hip-hop dance, skiing and outdoor education.

    Centennial Middle School

    • Centennial Middle School is located at 2205 Norwood Ave. in Boulder. Centennial offers many activities including foreign language studies, band, orchestra, guitar lessons, creative writing, fitness and dance. Students participate in activities such as history day, geography bee and writing contests. Centennial focuses on small class size and interdisciplinary team teaching. Honors classes are offered in language arts and mathematics.
