Write your child's name on a piece of cardboard using colored markers. Write with uppercase letters, as they can be easier for children to identify. With the child watching, write down each letter in his name while saying them out loud. Ask your child to repeat the letters with you.
Use magnetic alphabet letters to expand upon the letters your child can already identify. Write common words and the names of friends and family members by placing the magnets on the refrigerator. Practice spelling the words with your child.
