How to Learn Arabic Letters Online

You may have decided to enroll in an Arabic language course either in high school or college. If you're traveling overseas, you may be required to know how to write and speak the Arabic alphabet. Books and audio lessons can be useful when attempting to learn a new alphabet. These items can also be expensive and unnecessary. Numerous websites list visual and audio Arabic alphabet lessons, and each of these tutorials is free to use.

      Go to the Guideways website (see Resources). The Arabic alphabet is listed in a chart at the top of the page. Click each letter to hear how that letter sounds. Scroll down the page to learn how the letters in the Arabic alphabet are written for different occasions (For example, the beginning of a word, end of a word, etc.).

      Visit "The Alphabet" page on the Fun With Arabic website. This page contains a tutorial on the Arabic alphabet. The lesson, appropriately, starts with the first letter of the Arabic alphabet. Each lesson contains pronunciation and instructions on how to write that particular letter. Click "Next Letter" to go on to the next letter. Continue to do so until you've finished the entire tutorial.

      Learn the Arabic alphabet on the Speak 7 website. Scroll down the page and click the "Play" button in the video window to watch a five minute video introduction of the Arabic alphabet. Scroll down to see every letter in the alphabet. Then, head to the bottom of the page in order to learn how to pronounce and write each letter of the Arabic alphabet.

      Go to the "Arabic Alphabet" page on Arabic 2000. The letters of the alphabet are listed inside a chart. Click a letter to hear how it's pronounced. Unlike with other Arabic alphabet websites, you can also save these files on your computer, giving you the option of listening to them again at a later time.
