Provide students with traceable alphabet handwriting worksheets. Generate a free printable handwriting worksheet (see Resources) that features the letter or letters of the alphabet you want children to practice writing. Offer children crayons, markers, colored pencils or regular pencils to use to trace the letters printed on the worksheets.
Offer kindergarteners letter stencils, paper and writing utensils. Encourage children to use the writing utensils to trace the letter stencils onto the paper.
Print letters on paper with markers. Offer children finger paint and encourage them to trace the letters printed on the paper with the finger paint.
Spray shaving cream onto a flat surface and smear it. Have children use their fingers to practice writing letters in the shaving cream.
Spread a layer of pudding over the surface of a cookie sheet. Instruct students to use their fingers to write the letters of the alphabet in the pudding.
Print letters on pieces of paper. Insert the papers into the plastic pages of a photo album. Offer children a dry-erase marker and instruct them to trace the letters. The dry-erase marker will wipe off the surface of the plastic pages, so that students can trace the letters repeatedly.
