Write up a list of items or scenarios that the children need to take pictures of on their scavenger hunt. Set up the scavenger hunt according to what they are learning or just what the children are interested in.
Provide the children with some fun ideas for the scavenger hunt such as to take a picture of the group so that they look very small or to take a picture of an animal with her baby.
Bring the children to an area that will enable them to be creative and find all of the items on their scavenger list. Encourage the children to have fun but to obey all of the rules of the scavenger hunt.
Give each group of children a disposable camera. If the children have their own digital camera, that would be great for them to use as well. Be sure that there is enough memory on the card for all of their photo opportunities.
Set up a time limit for the children to photograph all items listed on their photo scavenger list. Give the children a watch or use a stop watch or timer to make sure that the children fit all of their photographs in the given time.
