Use a sheet of white paper and a ruler to create practice-writing sheets. Use the ruler to measure out 2-inch increments along each long side of the paper. Connect the sides to create lines across the paper.
Use the ruler to measure halfway between the lines (one inch from either line) and draw a dotted line to signify the middle of the writing space. Complete these lines until you cover the entire paper.
On the top, left-hand side of the paper, print example letters for the students to use. With a copy machine, make enough copies so each student has one practice sheet to use.
For another style of printing practice sheets, create large block letters on a paper in both upper and lower case. Make the letters large enough to fill the top half of the paper.
Create 2-inch lines along the bottom of the paper. Measure halfway between the lines (1 inch from either line) and draw a dotted line to signify the middle of the writing space.
On the left-hand side of the lines, write the letter in upper and lower case for the student to practice writing, as well as color the large block letters. Make copies for students to use.
For computer-created printing sheets, use the Internet to locate websites such as HandwritingforKids.com, which contains personalized printing practice sheets (see References). Follow directions on the website to create practice sheets. Print out for students to use. Make sure to create enough copies for all students.
