Delta R-5 Schools

Located in Delta, Missouri, the Delta R5 school district has approximately 300 students in grades ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. According to GreatSchools Inc., the Delta R5 district scored five out of a possible 10 points in a rating based on the district's overall test scores. The Delta R5 school district comprises two schools: the Delta R-V Elementary School and Delta High School.
  1. Student Evaluation

    • Students in the Delta R5 school district are evaluated by the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and the End-of-Course Assessment (EOC). According to Great Schools Inc., the MAP tests elementary students grade 3 through 8 in communication skills and math, and grades 5 through 8 in science. The EOC tests high schoolers in algebra I, English II and biology. The purpose of these tests is to measure the level of academic achievement of students in the Delta R5 school district in relationship to other students in Missouri.

    The Teachers

    • The Delta R5 school district has a teacher-to-student ratio that is below the Missouri state average. They are 11 students to one teacher, while the state average is 14 students to one teacher. There are 20 full-time teachers working in

      the Delta R5 school district. This is a very low amount of full-time teachers serving this school district. The National Center for Education Statistics reports that the Missouri state average of teachers in a particular school district is approximately 121, and the national average is 188.

    Delta R-V Elementary School

    • The Delta R-5 Elementary school has approximately 170 students enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grades. Seventeen of the teachers are certified. The elementary teaching staff averages 14 years of teaching experience; 36 percent of the teachers have earn their master's degrees. The list of academics offered to elementary students include communication arts, mathematics, social studies and science. Strong reading and writing is also highly emphasized within the confines of general curriculum.

    Delta High School

    • Delta High School offers a wide variety of academic subjects, clubs and athletics. Academically, the core education is rounded by art, business, music and agriculture. Delta High School students may be interested in being a part of the multiple pep clubs, library club, yearbook club or even become a part of the student council. Athletically, students are offered opportunities to be a part of the girls or boys basketball, softball, baseball or cross country teams.
