The California Virtual Academies is an online school that strictly enforces school district policies, especially when it comes to attendance. For example, according to the CVA website, going on vacation does not excuse a student from logging in and being present in class. The teacher takes attendance and marks your child absent if he is not logged in when he should be.

In the high school program, children meet their teachers in person, as they lead on-grounds events that allow the students to get acquainted with one another. For instance, if your child is ill and cannot attend school, or if you think it is in your son's or daughter's best interest to attend school at home for a while, the Virtual Academy can accommodate you.
Columbia Virtual Academy is a Washington State based, kindergarten through 12th grade public education program. According to the CVA website, the virtual school is a partnership of public school districts throughout Washington. The Valley School Board founded the program in 2003 to accommodate parents who chose not to allow their children to attend traditional school.
Florida Virtual Schools Full-Time opened its Internet doors in 2003 and operated as a full-time school program, offering kindergarten through eighth grade instruction. Its operating name at the time was Florida Connections Academy. Beginning with the 2010-11 school year, the school has expanded to include all grades.
The institution's website says that you must reside in a district that offers the program, and your child must have been in school from October to February of the prior year. Students also must meet all public school attendance and standardized test participation guidelines to participate in this online school program.
