Evangel Christian School is located west of Sylacauga in Alabaster, AL. The School is associated with Alabaster's Evangel Church, itself associated with the Presbyterian Church in America. Evangel provides organizations for students from K-12, but the majority of its special programs are aimed at high school students, including an athletics program (including cheerleading) and campus-located high school level courses. Other available benefits include involvement in student government, prom and student banquets, and potential membership in the National Homeschool Honor Society. Evangel's students are required to attend 175 days of classes each year, and at least one parent in a homeschooled house must sign the school's Statement of Faith.

Everest Academy is centered in Graysville, AL, northwest of Birmingham. While this places it over an hour from Sylacauga, Everest has minimal attendance requirements, and is thus beneficial for families looking for a less structured homeschooling experience. Everest offers upwards of 40 field trips and other activities to its members each month. While the Academy is sponsored by the Graysville's Everest Family Ministry, it does not require a statement of faith, and it thus open to families and students of all religions. Enrollment is $200 for the first year of membership and $100 for every following year as of 2011.
