The Calvert School of Maryland is a distance learning facility offering online home school programs to pre-kindergarten to eighth grade students in the Maryland area. The school's curricula are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation (CITA), and all courses have been approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. Basic areas of study include reading, math, science and history as well as enrichment courses like writing and grammar, foreign languages and literature.

The Maryland Virtual Learning Opportunities Program is an educational service managed by the Maryland State Department of Education. The program offers supplemental home school courses to high school age students of traditional Maryland schools who are in need of additional lessons due to leave of absence or poor grades. High school level online courses include studies in American government, English, data analysis, biology and algebra.
