Determine the amount of railing required using a tape measure. Different kits come with different lengths of railing. Common rail lengths are 10, 12 and 16 feet.
Measure the desired installation area to make sure the board will fit. In many classrooms the Smart Board is installed in front of the white board. If the white board has an eraser tray, adjustments to the railing system are required when the clearance is less than 41 inches. Look for rail and bracket systems that are adjustable in height.
Compare stores that sell aftermarket rail and bracket kits for Smart Board such as K.O.H Designs and Touchboards. Compare materials, costs and ease of installation to determine which system will work best.
Verify the rail and bracket kit selected works with a Smart Board 660 by examining the board's specifications. Most kits accommodate a number of different Smart Board models.
