How to Link an LCD Projector to a SMART Board

A Smart Board is an interactive technological advancement created by Smart Technologies that allows teachers and presenters to digitally write on presentations through the use of specialized software, digital pens and a LCD projector. Each Smart Board is equipped with a digital eraser and several different colored digital pens that can digitally draw anywhere on the Smart Board. A Smart Board needs to be connected to a computer and LCD monitor to operate correctly.

Instructions

  Connect the computer to the LCD projector with the VGA cable. VGA cable ends are blue and often have two screws on each side of the connector to secure the connector to the computer. The corresponding port on the computer will also be blue.

  Plug the USB cable connected to the Smart Board into a USB port on the computer.

  Plug in the power supplies to the LCD projector and Smart Board into an electrical outlet.

  Install the software provided with the smart board onto the computer.
- 5
  Turn on the power to the LCD projector and smart board prior to turning on the computer. Your computer should find the projector when it is turned on.
