How to Open Smart Board Control Panels

Classrooms around the country are equipped with Smartboards, interactive whiteboards that bring the personal computer to a large screen. The touch of the hand acts as a mouse click and brings a variety of online resources to students. The Smartboard Control Panel houses the tools and settings that ensure the Smartboard operates properly. Opening the Control Panel to modify these controls is relatively easy and can be accomplish in several ways.

Instructions

  In the notification area on the bottom right of the screen, click the Notebook Software icon. The icon is a blue square with a white notepad in the center. This should open the Control Panel.

  Click on "Start," "Programs," "Smart Technologies," then "Control Panel." This method should be used if is no Smartboard connected to the computer on which you are working.

  If the Smartboard tools menu is open on the desktop, click on the wrench to open the Control Panel.

  Once the Control Panel is open, choose the setting you wish to modify from the drop-down menu and make your selections.

  Click "OK" to apply the new settings and close the Control Panel.
