How to Clean Overhead Marker Off of an Interactive SMART Board

Having a SMART Board in your classroom or boardroom can revolutionize the way you teach and interact with those in the room. Although you can do many things with your SMART Board, one thing you can't do is use any markers available. High-odor dry erase markers are the best choice because they are easily removed. If you've accidentally grabbed an overhead marker you can remove the stains and avoid permanent damage to your SMART Board.

• High-odor dry erase marker
• Glass cleaner
• Clean cloths

     Turn your SMART Board off. Trace over the overhead marker stains with a high-odor dry erase marker.

     Wipe your SMART Board with a clean cloth to remove the dry erase marker and overhead marker stains. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 once or twice more to remove as much of the marker stain as possible.

     Spritz the stained area of your SMART Board with glass cleaner.

     Buff the surface with a dry cloth to remove the last traces of marker stains.
