Identify the author of the book you are citing as well as the title of the book. If there are are any contributors, such as editors, identify contributors as well. You will also need to know the city where the book was published, the publisher and the year it was published.
Write the author's last name followed by a comma and then the author's first name. Put a period after the author's first name. If there is more than one author, list the authors in alphabetical order. Place a comma after the first author's name followed by the word "and" and the other authors' names.
Write the title of the book after the author's name followed by a period and underline the title of the book.
Document any contributors, if there are any, by identifying the contributors as Ed. for editor and then the editor's name followed by a period.
Add the city where the book was published followed a colon and the name of the publishing house. Put a comma after the name of the publishing house followed by a year the book was published and end with a period.
Write the page numbers cited after the period. List the beginning of the source section first, then a dash followed by the last page of the selection used. End with a period.
Add the word "print" followed by a period to denote that you used printed materials.
