How to Do a Website Bibliography in MLA

The bibliography page at the end of an educational document contains a list of all sources of information used in the creation of said document. If one of your pieces of information came from a particular website, you will have to format this information on the bibliography page very specifically in order to comply with MLA guidelines.

Instructions

    • 1

Include the name of the author (if one is listed). Follow general MLA guidelines and list the author's last name first, followed by the first name.

    • 2

Enclose the article title in quotation marks. Following it, underline the name of the website where the article was found.

    • 3

Type the name of the website editor, if that information is specified on the site you're using. Follow general MLA rules and type the editor's last name, then first name.

    • 4

Type the word "Online" to designate that the reference you're using is on the Internet as opposed to being in print.

    • 5

Type the date in which you found the website and used the information contained on it. Follow general MLA rules for dates and include the day number, the month number and the year in that order.
