How to Cite the Lily in APA

Nancy Rue is the creator of the "Lily" series of books. These books are aimed at the tween demographic — readers between childhood and the teen years — and focus on the issues commonly faced by tween girls. The American Psychological Association publication manual gives clear guidelines for citing books, such as those in the "Lily" series.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the following template for citing books from the "Lily" series:

Rue, N. (Year of Publication). Title of specific Lily book. Location: Publisher.

The publisher's location should include the city, followed by a comma and then the state's two-letter abbreviation, such as "New York, NY."

    • 2

Establish the official title and publication year of the "Lily" book you are referencing.

    • 3

Enter the book's year of publication in parentheses and italicize the book's title. Per APA style, the only words in the title that should be capitalized are the first word and any proper nouns.
