Select the calculator's "Design" or other graph type menu option to select a type of graph. Select the line graph option in the menu. Select the background color of the graph, the color of the line, its graphic design format (such as 2D or 3D), the grid color, the number of grid lines and where the legend will appear on the final graph.
Specify the graph title, the x-axis label, the y-axis label, and the document or article you obtained the data from (known as the source) in the text boxes of the graphing calculator you are using. Select the number of items (paired data points) that you are to graph. Also, set the line width of the line that will be graphed and any other graphic format options of the calculator program.
Enter in the paired data points in the table that the calculator provides. For this example, enter in the paired data point (1,1) for point 1 (or item 1). Continue adding in the paired data points. Use (2,2), (3,3), (4,4) and (5,5) as four other points you will use to plot a line.
Select the preview menu option to graph the line on the screen. Review the format of the line, the graph and the text describing the graph on the graph that appears. Review the different graph formats and select a new format to make any changes you want. Plot the graph to the screen and preview the graph with the new graphic format.
Print and save the plot with the "Print/Save" option on your calculator. Select print options such as "graph image with table" to print the graph. Select save options, such as the "pdf" option, to save your graph in a pdf file. Enter in your email address and press the "Send" button to send a link to the location of your graph, if the calculator you use has this option.
