Use the online number generator at the Math Work Sheet Site listed in the Resources section. Review the different text box entry options on the calculator.
Position your cursor over the "Beginning Number" text box. Delete the number in the text box using the "delete" key on your keyboard. Type in a new number by pressing the numbered keys on your keyboard. Use the number 5 for the "Beginning Number" for this example to generate a number line that begins at the number 5.
Press the "Tab" key on your keyboard to move to the "Ending Number" text box. Delete the number in the text box using the "Delete" key on your keyboard. Type in a new number for the "Ending Number" with the number keys on your keyboard. Use the number "20" for this example to generate a number line that extends to the number 20.
Press the "Tab" key on your keyboard to move to the "Increment" text box. Delete the number in the text box. Type in a new number for the increment with the number keys on your keyboard. Use the number "1" for this example to generate a number line that is divided into 1 unit increments. Click the "Create It" button to graph the number line on your computer screen.
Repeat the above procedure with a negative number as the starting point and a positive number as an ending point. Use an increment value that is less than one, such as 0.5. Click the "Create It" button to graph the new number line on your computer screen.
Save and print your number line.
