The South Carolina Department of Education offers a GED testing service through the American Council on Education. Students can register for the test, find resources and obtain preparation materials online. The Greenville County Schools Adult Education and Training Center has an Adult Education and Training Program dedicated to students in pursuit of their GEDs. Classes meet throughout the year.
The Trident Literacy Association in Charleston, South Carolina offers a complete GED preparation and tutoring services at low or no cost to students. Enrollment is open monthly for a fee of $25 dollars per student, and no charge for senior citizens age 65 and older.
The Online Training Institute gives students freedom to pursue a GED in a manner that better fits their schedule. The institute provides the full range of GED preparation, including tutoring and practice tests. Complete courses are available for each section of the GED.
The U.S. Army opened up GED prep school at the Fort Jackson, South Carolina, army base to help students meet requirements for military entry. Through a four-week course, adults can earn their GED diploma, then enlist in the army, while preparing for boot camp and combat training.
