Marygrove learning resource center (MLRC) offers free preparation classes and testing for adults that meet eligibility requirements. Here are the requirements as listed on Marygrove college website: "To receive services, potential participants must meet eligibility requirements as outlined under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Job Education Training (JET)." GED testing is free for MLRC participants--$50 dollars for Detroit residents, and $100 for walk-ins.

Grand Rapids Public Schools offer free GED preparation classes. Students will receive a reduced fee for the GED testing once the preparation classes have been completed. Free bus passes are also available to help students with their transportation needs. Preparation classes are only offered in English, and there are morning and evening classes available.

Active Faith Community Services offers GED preparation classes free of charge for low-income individuals who live within 80 miles of the South Lyon, Michigan, school district. Tudors are retired volunteer teachers and the program is funded by individual and church donations. Active Faith Community Services also aids in emergency services such as eviction situations and utility bills.
