Applicants must be high school graduates or have their GEDs, have completed one semester of high school algebra and be at least 18 years old. Applicants are accepted into the five-year program year-round.
The program includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and, upon completion, apprentices become members of the international brotherhood of electrical workers (IBEW) and receive an Associate of Applied Science degree from Ivy Tech State College.
Classes are held in the evenings and, for 2010, cost $225 per year.
