The Mountain State School of Massage offers a holistic approach to physical massage therapy. Its curriculum has day, night and weekend programs, and it provides students with focused experience, a comprehensive knowledge base and various progressive educational experiences. The school is accredited by the Commission On Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA), an independent accrediting body in the United States. It also operates as a postsecondary school with permission by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission; and the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) considers it a continuation education provider.
The Clarksburg Beauty Academy offers students a comprehensive curriculum in cosmetology, nail technology and massage therapy. Every 24 weeks, a new course sequence begins. The courses cover 600 hours of instruction over 18 weeks. Students learn different massage techniques such as Swedish massage, connective tissue massage, neuromuscular therapy, Shiatsu, reflexology, chair massage, sports massage and hydrotherapy. The school prepares students to become a licensed therapeutic massage therapist.
Morgantown Beauty College offers a 600-hour massage therapy program lasting six months. The program meets the accrediting standards set forth by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA), as well as the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS); the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission; and the West Virginia Massage Licensure Board. When the student completes the program, she will be eligible to take the National Certification Examination (NCE) to become licensed.
