The Agee Memorial Scholarship Fund provides academic scholarships for students to attend Eastern Kentucky University. In order to receive consideration, the student must have a documented processing disorder, such as dyslexia. The academic scholarship provides funding of $1,000 per award and covers the cost of tuition for incoming freshman only. Funding for the scholarships are not renewable.
The Anne Ford Scholarship for students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, is provided by the National Association for Learning Disabilities. The scholarship program provides no more than $10,000 to a student. The scholarship program does not limit funding for an area of study.
The Foundation for Exceptional Children provides funding for the Stanley E. Jackson Scholarship. The average amount of the grant awards is $500. Scholarship funds remain limited to full time students. In order to receive funding, you need to have the capability of having your learning disorder verified by a physician.
The Mario Huber Learning through Listening Awards provides funding for high school seniors who want to attend a two or four year college or vocational school in the United States. Six awards are given to include three awards each in the amounts of $6,000 and $2,000. Funding is limited to those with visual impairments or dyslexia. It is imperative that you be registered for at least one year with the Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic before you can be considered for a college scholarship. You must graduate with at least 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in order receive consideration for a scholarship.
