Kendall College School of Culinary Arts offers certificates in Baking and Pastry, Personal Chef and Catering and Professional Cookery. Associate in applied science degrees are available in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry. There's also a bachelor of arts degree program in Culinary Arts.
The college campus features 12 commercial kitchens, two demonstration kitchens, an outside bread oven and specialty kitchens devoted to specific areas such as chocolate preparation. Kendall is also home to three operating restaurants open to the public.
The Chicago campus of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts offers a certificate in Culinary Arts and associate degrees in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry Arts. All graduates also receive a Le Cordon Bleu diplôme.
The college focuses on an academic blend of American and European culinary techniques and innovations. The campus also includes Technique, a fully functional student-run restaurant that serves as a final capstone project for culinary students.
The Illinois Institute of Art offers associate of applied science degrees in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Culinary Management, a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and a certificate in Professional Baking and Pastry. The institute teaches culinary arts through multiple routes for a well rounded education. Students participate in lectures, labs, demonstrations, individual tutorials and internships.
The French Pastry School offers two certificate course programs to prepare students for a career in the pastry arts. The L'Art de la Pâtisserie, or Professional Pastry and Baking Arts Program, is a 24 week foundation program teaching the fundamentals of a wide range of pastry and baking techniques. The 16 week L'Art du Gâteau, or Professional Cake Decorating and Baking Program, has a narrower focus on the techniques for producing and decorating cakes.
