Celebrity Chef Schools

Celebrity chefs have made a household name for themselves as they enter homes through their television shows and teach basic cooking techniques with gourmet results. Even though some of these celebrity chefs have never gone to culinary school, they have opened up their own schools to introduce the rest of the world to their techniques and recipes.
  1. Draeger's Cooking School

    • Located in San Mateo, Menlo Park, Blackhawk and Los Altos, California is the Draeger's Cooking School. Here, students can sign up for private events or classes that range from one day to three days long. These courses include baking and pastry arts, Pacific Rim cooking, culinary basics and healthy living. Some of the renowned chefs students can find at the Draeger's Cooking School are Andrea Beaman from "Top Chef" or Sam Choy who has made several appearances on TLC and the Food Network for cooking shows and competitions.

    Padstow Seafood School

    • Rick Stein has made a household name for himself by being on Food Network's "Iron Chef America" and TLC's "Top Chef Masters." With his guest appearances and competitive edge, Rick Stein let it be known to the world that he was a master in seafood. At the Padstow Seafood School in Padstow, Cornwall, England, students will be given accommodations at the seafront property where they will learn about fresh seafood, how to prepare raw dishes, braise and grill lobster, and much more. Classes can be selected for one day or students can engross themselves in a week of seafood cookery.

    De Gustibus Cooking School

    • De Gustibus, the "School of Good Taste," prides itself on teaching students five-star cooking with guest appearances by celebrity chefs. Some celebrity chefs that frequent the De Gustibus School in New York City are Food Network stars Mario Batali and Cat Cora. Here, students can take one-day courses with celebrity chefs and learn basic cooking techniques, pastry arts and, in the case of Mario Batali, Italian cooking techniques.

    The International Kitchen

    • When traveling to Venice, Italy, make a point of stopping in at The International Kitchen. Here, guests can sign up for a week-long tutorial in authentic Italian cuisine while staying in their luxurious guest rooms right on the water in Venice. Celebrity chefs, such as Mario Batali, frequent the location in Venice and offer guest appearances and one day lessons to travelers. The International Kitchen can also be found in France and Spain offering tours, cooking and wine tastings to each individual or couple that sign up for their courses.
